Lace nails. To be more specific white lace nail designs on a nude nail polish. I feel like using natural colors adds an understated beauty to any nail art. 💅 I love this particular nail design because of the details in the lace. It looks like you’ve spent hours creating it when in actuality it can be done in less then 30 minutes. Less then 15 if you’re good. 😉 I’m still relatively new to nail stamping so I had to go back and erase few nails. Then redo them. And here’s how I did them.
Lace Nails Nail Stamping
Yesss. I used nail stamping to do this design. It’s pretty simple once you get a hang of it but might take few tries at first. Totally worth it though, because once you learn how to do it you can make your own complicated looking nail designs at home. 🎨 And I’m telling you everyone will be asking where you did your nails. 💖
So here’s what you will need for this lace nails design:
- nail stamper and scraper
- nail stamping plate with lace design on it
- liquid latex(optional)
- stamping nail polish
- regular nail polish
- gel top coat (optional) +uv/led lamp
You want to start with a regular nail polish to use as the base color. That is the color that will be visible under the lace design. I picked a nude nail polish, but you can choose whichever color you want. 🌈 Apply it and let it dry.
The next step is optional and kind of my personal favorite for nail stamping. I apply a gel top coat over the nail polish and cure it for 60 seconds under a uv/led lamp. 💡 This protects the nail color underneath and makes your nails shiny. ✨ But most importantly it seals the color in. So if you mess up with the nail stamping you can just use a nail polish remover. 💦 It will remove the design on top without affecting the nail color under the gel. Alternatively you can use a gel nail polish for the base color.
Can you do it without the gel? Yes! Absolutely. 👌But you’d want to be more careful with applying the stamping design. Anytime you use a nail polish remover it will remove the stamping and the base nail color. So you’d have to start that nail from scratch.
This is a good time to apply liquid latex. 💧💅 This step is also optional but pretty useful. This product comes in a container that looks exactly like a nail polish container. But instead of going on top of your nails it goes on the skin around each nail. It’s liquid when you apply it, then it quickly dries and turns into a clear film like layer. Super useful for stamping, because any nail polish you get on the skin where it is applied will come right off. 😄
How to do Nail Stamping
With all the previous steps completed you’re now ready to do the actual nail stamping. And here’s how to do it.
Place the nail stamping plate in front of you. Make sure it’s clean without any dust on it. The one I used here is from born pretty. 💗
Take a stamping nail polish and apply generous amount of it over the design you like on the nail stamping plate. In this case I chose the lace design. 💅 Once the nail polish is on the plate take the scraper and scrape the extra nail polish off the plate. Try to do it fast otherwise it will dry up in the plate. Now quickly take the nail stamper. Press it firmly against the plate and pick up the design. 👌
Once the design is on the stamper press it on top of the nail. Hold it there for a second for the design to transfer. That’s it. Repeat the same for all the other nails. At the end peel the liquid latex off your skin and you’re done. 😃
